We have updated our Academic Honesty (AH) procedures and created a supporting Faculty Guide to help you navigate these processes. You can find these on the Faculty Commons under Student Support & Reporting Forms > Student Conduct
For Faculty
The new Guide helps with syllabus writing, detection, and response. While your role remains the same, please note:
- Sanctions: Faculty members now focus only on grade or course-related outcomes. Other disciplinary actions are handled by Student Conduct.
- Documentation: Maintain written records of all AH communications and decisions.
- Syllabi: Ensure your AH expectations are clearly stated in your syllabus and discussed with students.
For Deans & Directors
- Appeals Timeline: The window for students to appeal has been shortened from 30 days to 14 days.
- New Process: Students will use a new online appeal form. Once submitted, it is automatically emailed to the Dean/Director to begin the 14-day review period.
